WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR III

The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator III is an experienced, lead-level technical recycled water and wastewater resource recovery treatment classification in the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator series. The Operator III is a lead operator responsible for assuring the appropriate staffing levels are on duty and performing the assigned tasks required to ensure the efficient operation of the Plant and related processes and systems. The lead provides technical assistance and support to other operators as needed. Trains, monitors, and assesses the skill development and job performance of new and existing staff; supports and assists Division management in the ongoing training and development of staff. The position also performs routine scheduled preventive maintenance work on equipment and develops maintenance and repair operating procedures. Operators must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Must be responsive to call-outs and/or operational emergencies.

SENIOR WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR

The Senior Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator is an advanced journey-level position that assists the Operations Supervisor in training, overseeing, and reviewing the work of assigned operators. This working lead is responsible for handling the most complex problems during the shift that may rise within the resource recovery treatment plant operations including, but not limited to, start-up and shutdown of major unit processes. The Senior Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator participates in the routine day to day operational duties of the facilities as assigned. Operators must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Must be responsive to callouts and/or operational emergencies.

COLLECTION SYSTEM WORKER I

The Collection System Worker I is an entry-level technical recycled water and wastewater collection and conveyance system maintenance and repair classification in the Collection System work unit.

The duties of this classification involve work that is physical in nature and may work alone or as a member of a crew and will operate a variety of recycled water and wastewater collection and conveyance systems cleaning and maintenance machinery, vehicles, and closed-circuit  television equipment.

The Collection System Worker II is a journey-level technical recycled water and wastewater collection and conveyance system maintenance and repair classification in the Collection System work unit. The Collection System Worker II is distinguished from the Collection System Worker I by the performance of more complex duties and tasks in addition to the Collection System Worker I responsibilities.

This recruitment will establish an Eligibility List to fill the open position of a Collection System Worker I or a Collection System Worker II in the Resource Recovery Services Division.
